In the morning:
- 9h20*: Arrival at the Waterloo Tourist Office located right in front of the Wellington Museum in the city centre.
- 9h30: 60’ visit of the Wellington Museum, on your own or with a guide (what we recommend). On June 17 and 18, the Duke of Wellington set up his H.Q. in this inn and drafted his victory dispatch there.
- 11h: Arrival to the site of the Memorial 1815 (5 km to the South, in Braine-L’Alleud). Visit (with an audio-guide) of the Memorial 1815 : buried at the foot of the Lion’s Mound, a dive into the heart of the battle in a multi-sensory experience, full of special effects, the only one of its kind in Europe.
- 12h30: Visit on your own of the Panorama: an immense canvas (110 m in circumference) of the battle, painted in 1912.
- 13h: Lunch (see the page « Restaurants for groups »).
In the afternoon:
- 14h30: Visit on your own of the Lion’s mound: from the top of the 226 steps, admire the breathtaking view over the battlefield.
- 15h30*: visit of the Folon Foundation in La Hulpe, on your own or with a guide (what we recommend).
In the middle of the beautiful Solvay Park, the farm of the Castle of La Hulpe presents more than forty years of creativity, in a lively and original setting, designed by the artist himself. About 300 exhibited works: watercolours, serigraphs, etchings, posters, misappropriated objects, stained glass, sculptures… - 17h : end of the day.
*Possibility to have a breakfast in the Wellington Museum and a meal in the restaurant "Taverne de l’Homme Bleu" (next to the Foundation), according to availabilities.
